Consulting Services

My Experience

Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade teaching sociology and writing courses about marriage and family life, social inequality, and other central aspects of the human experience. These classes often bridged the university and nonprofit sectors through service learning or community-based research. I found that inviting students off campus often deepened their engagement with the material and with each other. I also appreciated the opportunity to connect with students and community members in more authentic ways. Ultimately, I expanded this community-based work through a range of consulting projects, many of which centered on equity, health, and wellness. Along with my work as a therapist, I continue to consult with nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations. Past clients have included Denver Public Schools, Front Range BOCES, Metro Denver Nature Alliance, National Equity Project, and San Luis Valley Broadband Collaborative.  I also support the Civic Canopy's work as part of its Associate Program.
